Fruitcakes last forever
|
I remember Frankie once telling me about how his friend was cleaning out the closet one day, and happened upon a really old fruitcake, and ever since then, within that circle of friends, every Christmas, they would pass the fruitcake around to someone else in the group.
Here is a story of a man and his 44 year old fruitcake that he hasn't thrown out yet. Frankie told me later that the fruitcake they were passing around eventually got thrown out because of a funky odor emanating from it. I'd hate to see (smell) what this fruitcake would be like! |

Interesting "Mind Reader"
So there is this one flash-based "mind-reader" type of site that can predict what symbol you are thinking of by asking you to think of a two-digit number, adding the two individual numbers together, and subtracting that value from the original number (eg 23 would become 2+3=5, and then 23-5 = 18)So of course, at the beginning, I was pretty amazed by it all, but I knew that there had to be some kind of trick to this. In any case, I think I have figured it out, but let's see if you can figure it out too! Enjoy! :D ... and if you do figure it out, go ahead and post it in the comments section...

Breaking the Silence
So I guess some may have noticed that I have been a bit silent on my site for a little while. I have left AsiaTech as a salaried employee about a month ago, and have been coming back in for a few hours a week as a consultant to the company. In the meantime, I have been working on putting together a small fund with a friend out in Taiwan, and we are working at a very rapid pace to have the money and everything else ready to go by the end of June. Since I have never worked on this end of the business, it has been a very educational experience. I am sure there is still a lot to learn, but for what I have done over the past several weeks, I think I have filled my brain to capacity (not that it has a very large capacity to begin with) on how to put together a fund, write the Private Placement Memorandum, and understanding tax implications for Limited Partners domestically and abroad, and why some multinational firms end up having Cayman Island entitites.
In any case, a lot of the groundwork has been done, and things are slowing down a little that I can start to update the blog again. I think there is a lot of stuff for me to catch up on that has happened over the past few weeks, so I'll be working on that soon...
